This is my second time around at Rhythm and Roots and now I consider myself a bonafide music festival expert ... Okay, I'm not really a music festival expert, but I managed to get my tickets at half price, so that counts for something.

Rhythm and Roots is a music festival that takes place in downtown Bristol, "The Birthplace of Country Music". Unfortunately, I do not like country music, but there were plenty of other bands there for me.

On Friday night, I saw Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and trust me, I was surprised. In following with the methodology from the former year, my friends and I carefully selected which bands to see based on how, though-provoking and unique there names were. This year, Rainbow Kitten Surprise won. As you can see in the pictures we were front row, surround on all sides by people who acted like they knew who this band was; we had no choice but to blend in and mouth whatever words we thought they were singing. However, by the end we all bought into the weirdness of RKS and thoroughly enjoyed the show. I even bought a T shirt.

Saturday Night, along with several friends, I camped out (read: stood in a spot for maybe an hour, max) to see this year's headliner, Judah and the Lion. As expected they were AMAZING. So amazing, that I lost my voice that night and could not find it until Tuesday. While it was no surprise that Judah and the Lion, would put on a great show, it was quite suprising what happened before the band even came on. A local newscaster came on stage, followed by two lucky fans to introduce the band, but instead of advertising T shirts, a man proposed to his girlfriend on stage. It was definitely #RelationshipGoals. Also, did I mention I bought their T shirt too? Well, I did.

Overall this was a wonderful weekend I was able to spend with some of my favorite things: friends and music. It will surely go down as a weekend I will not forget any time soon.
